To clarify, this is not the movie “Chasing Mavericks” which featured the guy from “300″.
Instead, this is a documentary about Jeff Clark who discovered Mavericks and the others who surf there today.

Shane Dorian is out too.
Dorian was injured recently on his Portugal trip.
While Slater cites a conflict with the ASP.
Apparently, the Mavericks Invitational is part of the Big Wave World Tour and the ASP will fine/penalize Slater if he participates in this non-ASP-sanctioned event.
Despite losing its two biggest stars, Mavericks is set for tomorrow amidst perfect weather and conditions.

Models plus great surfers equals Five Point Video right?
Well, not quite.
Despite featuring surfers John John Florence, Chippa Wilson, Jordy Smith, Asher Pacey, Josh Kerr and models Kerstin John, Terese Amgren, Chyna Powers, Carmen Santo, the video never really got going.
Super slow and when there was action, it was in slo-mo.
I really wanted to like this clip and the production value was there. Just really fell short. 4:50.

15-foot tiger shark attacks Big Island man. Friend and surfing buddy recounts the ordeal. Victim apparently punched the shark to save self. Hand was nearly torn off, but reattached.
